Terms of Service

1. The deal

By downloading, installing, or using Beetle Video Editor you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it. Beetle is free software — you don't pay us to use it. Optional token packs and the sharing network are paid services covered below.

2. License to use the editor

The Beetle editor is licensed for personal and commercial use. You may install it on any machine you own or are authorized to use. You may not resell, redistribute, or modify the executable. Source-available components are governed by their individual licenses.

3. Token packs

Token packs are purchases, not subscriptions. Tokens you buy never expire. Tokens granted monthly (the 500/month free grant) expire after 90 days if unused. Refunds on unused purchased tokens are available within 14 days of purchase — see the refund policy.

4. Sharing network

The sharing network is opt-in. When enabled, your machine processes opaque, sandboxed work units from the network orchestrator in exchange for tokens. The work units cannot read your files, projects, or other applications. You can disable sharing at any time from the dashboard or Settings.

Earnings are capped monthly to prevent the sharing network from becoming a primary income source. We reserve the right to adjust rates, multipliers, and caps.

5. Account and termination

You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We'll hard-delete your data within 30 days. We may suspend accounts that abuse the sharing network (fraudulent job returns, malicious payloads) without notice.

6. Disclaimers

Beetle is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damage to your media, projects, or hardware resulting from use of the software or the sharing network. Maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced at least 30 days in advance via the dashboard and the changelog.
